OLUDENIZ

Should you check Ölüdeniz during your gulet cruise?

Ölüdeniz is one of the most amazing Turkey beaches and you should check it out if you are close by with your gulet.

Clear sea lots of places to snorkel and swim and lots of other activities offered there.

In high season it can get a bit crowded but if you are traveling with a gulet this is not really a problem.

Ölüdeniz, named the “Dead Sea” 12k m south of Fethiye is the azure lagoon featured on every Turkish travel poster.

It is warm, occasionally turbid and waters make it for a pleasant swimming even in April or May, or a spin in a rented kayak or pedalo (motorized sports are only allowed in the open sea).

However, the environs of this once-pristine lagoon rank as one of the country’s most popular resorts, and its beaches – both the spit enclosing the inlet and the more exposed strand of Belceğiz – reach saturation level on summer weekends.

Ölüdeniz is not just one of the Mediterranean’s most magnificent bays, it’s a cover star. Indeed, the resort on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast is instantly recognizable from its starring role on posters, brochures and tourist board trade material.

Ölüdeniz is a stunning bay, with a laid-back atmosphere, one of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey.

Ölüdeniz"s main beach is bordered by an attractive promenade lined with small shops, cafes, and restaurants making it ideal for a wonderful beach holiday.

The Blue Lagoon of Ölüdeniz has calm, crystal clear waters which make it ideal for a variety of water sports and a very safe place for children to swim. Part of the lagoon is now a protected area (and it`s a national park) is a beautiful inland bay that stretches behind the cape – there is a small entrance fee to enter.
